Where do I start? The purpose of this statement is to outline the cause of my concern for the spiritual well-being of Hank (HH) Hanegraaff of the Christian Research Institute (CRI). First and foremost please understand that I’m not out to lynch HH- because I love him I really do want to see him in heaven. The problem is that as things stand right now this is not his destiny. Dear reader, please understand that it is not because of his doctrine that I do not consider him to be a brother in Christ- but because of his gross failure to adhere to the standards that he himself advocates.
Jesus said: “For as you judge others so you yourself
will be judged” Matthew 7:1
Thus understand clearly that I’m advocating tough love regarding this
unpleasant situation. I don’t like
making this public- but I despise letting the current situation go uncorrected
much more.
For
HH to get to heaven he needs to see the error of his ways and repent- according
to 1 John 3:9 one cannot be born again and continue in sin. But HH has continued in his
transgressions- and abused those that have tried to set him straight. So, what are these serious concerns
about HH’s behavior?
He
has stolen credit for other people’s work.
He does not pay taxes as you & I do- instead the bulk of his six-figure income is in the form of a ministerial housing allowance that is way beyond the mortgage of his $731,000 mansion in the exclusive gated community of Coto de Caza. Worse still he has LIED about it during a TAPED call.
He
has abused those that have tried to get him to see the error of his
ways
He
is not competent to debate with callers- especially those that are well read and
articulate- so his screeners only allow calls to go through that would make him
look good.
HH
relies on shallow pat answers- indeed, he is more committed to what he believes
to be the truth than the absolute truth itself.
HH
gives himself free CRI promotions for his books, tapes and other materials from
which he profits- and he is magnified in public perception- while God holds His
nose because of the spiritual stench.
One
of his board members, Paul Young, abandoned his wife in Canada when he moved
down to be a VP @ CRI HQ in Southern California- to which he has NOT faced
church discipline.

as long as I’ve known for certain about this CRIsis my hope has been that a
scholar of integrity take HH’s place- because HH is not a scholar- nor does he
have integrity! It is my prayer
that HH come to see the error of his ways lest he face eternal
damnation!
